Our Basic Obedience training is a four week course, taught one hour per week with both owner and dog participating. We emphasize Positive Motivation Techniques, where the dog is taught that there is a reward for the completion of an exercise (such as play, praise or food treats). We also believe that the owner must have physical control, so we recommend the use of a working lead.
The course is designed to achieve competence in the standard commands: Sit, Down, Stay, Come, and Heel and emphasizes the correct executions of commands by the owner-trainer. All of this will allow you and your dog to begin to form a long-lasting and fun-loving bond. During the course we will be glad to help and solve any specific problems you may have with your pet.
The fee for the course is $85.00, to be paid in advance. The course is limited to 8 dog-trainer pairs per class and comes with a working lead.
We would like to have the dog to be at least 6 months old and we need to have a copy of their shot record to make sure that all shots are up to date.
